About The Position

The Financial Accountant role primarily focuses on monthly close and financial reporting, audit and cost report support, budget support and financial analysis, and technical accounting support including fixed assets and controls. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing monthly and annual financial statements, supporting the audit process, maintaining fixed asset schedules, assisting with budget development, analyzing financial results, and identifying improvements to accounting processes and internal controls. The position also involves providing payroll support, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and coordinating with the Director of Finance, Controller, and CFO. The role requires adherence to company attendance, safety procedures, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of accounting/finance experience required.
  • Must have advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Must have knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to notice discrepancies in data.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously while keeping management informed.
  • Must have discretion in judgment, tact and courtesy in dealing with residents, employees and general public.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assist in review of monthly and annual financial statements
  • Support audit process, including preparation of work papers and coordination with auditors
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules and depreciation
  • Support development of annual operating and capital budgets
  • Analyze financial results and provide variance support
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls
  • Provide support for payroll processing as needed
  • Support compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements
  • Coordinate with Director of Finance, Controller, and CFO on reporting needs
