Are you a well-rounded, intelligent, driven individual looking for an exciting opportunity to grow in an innovative organization? GAF's Finance Rotational Program is a 2 year program designed to develop high-potential talent into future finance leaders. This is accomplished through a series of rotations consisting of 6-12 month periods across the following Finance departments: 12 months for Corporate Accounting & 12 months for FP&A. Job Summary As part of the Corporate Accounting team for the first 12 months, we are searching for an entry level accountant who should be able to work independently or as part of the team, be well-organized, detail-oriented, and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This position will be responsible for assisting in the coordination of the monthly close of the general ledger system and the year-end audits, oversee the general ledger system, various journal entries, analysis, and reconciliations. This position will work on various projects as required as well as participate in the design, planning, and implementation of process improvements and consistency objectives. The candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Excel. As part of the FP&A team for the following 12 months , We are searching for an entry-level Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) professional who can work independently or as part of a team, is well-organized, detail-oriented, and has the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This position will be responsible for assisting in financial forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and strategic financial planning. The role will involve analyzing financial data to support decision-making, preparing reports to communicate insights, and contributing to the development of financial models. This position will also work on various projects as required and participate in the design, planning, and implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and consistency. The candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and financial modeling software. Knowledge of G-Suite is a plus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Accounting or related field required
  • In-Office Schedule: This position is based in our Parsippany, NJ corporate headquarters which currently operates on a hybrid in-office schedule. Though employees are welcome to work in our office on Friday, this position must be performed in-office on Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely from the employee's home office on Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Lease Accounting: Record and reconcile lease transactions in the general ledger in compliance with lease accounting standards ASC 842
  • Lease Accounting: Maintain accurate records of lease-related accounts, including amortization schedules and payment entries.
  • Lease Accounting: Collaborate with other departments, such as legal, IT, accounts payable, procurement, and plant accounting to ensure complete deal information
  • Asset Management Support the buildout of asset management processes and policies
  • Asset Management Potential for travel to participate in plant asset counts
  • Month-End Closing: Assist in the preparation and execution of month-end closing processes.
  • Month-End Closing: Reconcile and analyze accounts as assigned, including lease accounts
  • Month-End Closing: Ensure timely closing of books and accurate reporting of financial results.
  • Ad Hoc Projects Support special projects and initiatives related to general ledger accounting.
  • Ad Hoc Projects Provide assistance with system upgrades, process improvements, or new policy implementations.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial reports focused on P&L profitability and corporate cost center spending
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the annual planning process and updating financial forecasts.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Monitor budget variances and provide insights into discrepancies.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue growth.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize tools like Excel,TM1 and SAC for data data analysis.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as accounting, operations, and sales, to gather data and provide financial insights.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Functional Leadership on cost center spending
