About The Position

Are you a data-driven problem solver who loves mining through complex datasets to find the reasoning behind the numbers? Do you want an internship where your analysis directly impacts a global company’s P&L? As a Finance Intern at arrivia, you won't just be learning, you will be contributing. We are looking for a Junior or Senior who wants to bridge the gap between academic theory and corporate financial strategy. This 10-week program is designed for a high-potential student who thrives on identifying patterns within data and translating them into actionable business insights. While this role begins as an internship, we treat our interns as a talent pipeline. Success in this role means gaining visibility across our Finance and Accounting departments, with the potential for future full-time consideration. High-Impact Project: Analytics in Action You will lead a high-priority special project focused on reassessing the redemption rate on membership certificates. This assignment has a direct effect on the cost of certificates on our P&L and will shape our financial forecasting moving forward. Your core tasks will include: Data Mining: Sifting through massive datasets to identify usage patterns. Data Segmentation: Grouping data within the data set to uncover hidden trends. Strategic Reporting: Presenting a final recommendation to Finance leadership that will steer business decisions.

Requirements

  • Academic Background: Current Junior or Senior at an accredited university pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, or a heavily analytical field.
  • Analytical Mindset: You enjoy mining through large data sets, looking for patterns, and organizing complex information into clear narratives.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are a must (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and complex formulas).
  • Quantitative Strength: High level of comfort with mathematical analysis and financial statements.
  • Location: Must be able to commute to our Scottsdale, AZ office for the duration of the 10-week program.

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis & Pattern Recognition: Dive deep into financial data to look for trends, variances, and KPIs.
  • Financial Modeling: Assist in building and maintaining models to forecast future performance and evaluate new opportunities.
  • System Integrity: Ensure data accuracy between ERP systems and financial reports to maintain high-quality business intelligence.
  • Efficiency Automation: Use advanced Excel skills to build tools that automate manual reporting and eliminate manual drag.
  • Analytical Support: Support the team during monthly and quarterly financial reviews by researching reporting discrepancies.
