The Finance Intern will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in the day-to-day operations of corporate finance and accounting, learning and applying accounting principles, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and assisting with various financial tasks that are integral to the functioning of the organization.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent related experience
  • 0 - 5 years of experience
  • Candidate for Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Gain practical experience in the day-to-day operations of corporate finance and accounting
  • Learning and applying accounting principles
  • Ensuring accurate financial reporting
  • Assisting with various financial tasks that are integral to the functioning of the organization
  • Support multiple departments within the CFO Organization, particularly focusing on the Accounting and Finance/Project Control functions
  • Aid in the process of developing dynamic, functional organization of finance-related information and data archives
  • Identify opportunities for greater automation and use of BI tools in everyday operations of the departments
  • Support development of enhanced reporting and data presentation
  • Research completed projects and reconcile invoicing to financial & contractual records
  • Investigate and update notes in various balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Support data gathering for ad hoc requests such as audits and data calls
  • Support development of program forecasts and perform financial analysis on funding profiles and variances
  • Support preparation and distribution of financial information for PM Dashboards
  • Create direct project purchase requisitions for subcontractors, materials, travel, and other costs
  • Standardize documentation such as Unanet account/expense/item types for continuity across the project control team
