About The Position

A successful Vista Finance Director is a strategic partner to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team, responsible for safeguarding the financial health of the company while proactively driving profitability, scalability, and operational sustainability. This individual will oversee financial strategy, reporting, forecasting, risk management, and compliance and must bring a balance of technical expertise and collaborative leadership, ensuring financial processes and data support all departments and reflect the company’s values of Care, Clarity, and Cultivation.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of financial management, budgeting, accounting principles, and cash flow forecasting
  • Strategic mindset with hands-on operational abilities
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development skills
  • Experience working with software platforms such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
  • Proven ability to rapidly learn and effectively utilize new software applications and systems
  • Ability to build relationships across departments and communicate financial concepts clearly
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, reporting requirements, and tax laws (including WA DOR, L&I, 1099/W2 compliance)
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, growing, and fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior leadership role (Controller, CFO, or equivalent)
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Must be able to travel periodically for meetings, leadership retreats, or site visits
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Nice To Haves

  • Proven track record of supporting multi-site or multi-entity operations preferred
  • Experience in real estate, title and escrow, or a related regulated industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the Finance and Accounting team, including any additional support staff
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and ongoing performance feedback
  • Build the finance team to support long-term growth, including succession planning and role development
  • Partner with department heads to provide financial coaching and performance guidance
  • Oversee payroll processes in partnership with HR
  • Develop and execute Vista’s financial strategy, aligned with overall organizational goals
  • Lead budgeting and planning processes, including annual, quarterly, and project-specific budgets
  • Provide financial analysis and forecasting for strategic growth efforts
  • Recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance
  • Prepare and present monthly financial reports to the CEO, Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Team
  • Provide accurate and timely financial insights to support business decisions and goal-setting
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring appropriate liquidity and reserve levels
  • Oversee all accounting functions, including AR/AP, payroll, and reconciliations
  • Document and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure GAAP compliance and audit readiness
  • Ensure all tax filings and regulatory reporting requirements are accurate and timely
  • Support the CEO in evaluating new ventures, county-level growth, and partnership opportunities
  • Conduct financial risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
  • Oversee financial aspects of licensing, bonding, compliance, and insurance
  • Collaborate with HR and departmental leaders to ensure financial sustainability of hiring, compensation, and benefits
  • Drive continual improvement in financial systems, reporting tools, and processes
  • Lead financial system integration efforts (e.g., QuickBooks, Qualia, Fathom, etc.)
  • Develop and track financial KPIs for companywide performance monitoring
  • Participate in quarterly strategic planning sessions and cross-functional leadership meetings
  • Represent the Finance Department in Senior Leadership meetings and serve as a financial translator across departments
  • Model fiscal stewardship, data-informed decision-making, and growth-oriented planning
  • Other duties as assigned
