About The Position

We’re seeking a Finance Associate to support the Payments function at Chime! In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring forecasting accuracy while driving forward high-impact strategic and financial initiatives. You’ll partner closely with business leaders and finance team members to provide insights, influence decision-making, and help shape Chime’s financial strategy. Supporting Cost of Revenue (COR), you will collaborate with cross-functional partners across Strategy, Product, Data, Engineering, and Accounting to drive accuracy, visibility, and predictability in our cost forecasting. You will help design and operationalize scalable forecasting models, improve data pipelines, and ensure alignment between financial models and underlying business drivers. You will support key COR forecasting areas such as processing, network, and bank-related costs, partnering with stakeholders to understand key drivers like transaction volume, pricing changes, and product evolution. You will also work closely with Accounting during close to validate actuals, explain variances, and ensure financial accuracy. In addition, you’ll play a key role in the bottoms-up planning and forecasting process, develop financial models and reporting, and proactively identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve forecasting accuracy, scalability, and efficiency. We are looking for an analytical problem-solver who can break down complex problems into actionable components without losing sight of the overall strategy. The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $105,000.00 and up to $145,000.00. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of Finance/FP&A, investment banking, Big 4 accounting/advisory, or consulting experience
  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or other relevant field
  • Track record of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling with strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong sense of ownership and commitment to quality, working diligently to navigate ambiguity/obstacles and drive projects to completion
  • Strong process-improvement mindset with demonstrated ability to leverage AI and automation to scale finance workflows and improve forecasting precision and turnaround time
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced G-Suite, Microsoft Excel, Word, and presentation tools (PowerPoint, G-Slides) skills required
  • Experience identifying, designing, or deploying AI-driven use cases within finance workflows (e.g., forecasting automation, reporting acceleration, variance analysis, or scenario modeling)

Nice To Haves

  • Pigment, Netsuite, Looker, Workday, SQL, Snowflake, Python/coding tools, and direct experience with R&D and/or transaction loss forecasting

Responsibilities

  • Own and improve COR forecasting processes, incorporating key drivers such as transaction volumes, pricing, vendor changes, and product evolution
  • Develop, deliver, and maintain Cost of Revenue reporting and dashboards (e.g., vendor costs, transaction drivers) to ensure visibility and accuracy for business and finance leadership
  • Partner cross-functionally with Strategy, Product, Data, Engineering, and Accounting to support financial decision-making and accountability
  • Support monthly close processes by validating actuals, and explaining variances and business performance across COR categories
  • Leverage AI and automation to streamline financial processes, improve data quality, and enhance scalable reporting and forecasting capabilities that support Chime’s growth and enable smarter, faster decision-making
  • Support ad hoc analyses and strategic initiatives focused on optimization opportunities across COR
