About The Position

The Finance and Accounting Assistant provides support to the overall function of the Accounting Department. Performs a wide range of accounting tasks to help assure the day-to-day operations of the Department are carried out with established accounting principles, policies, and objectives. The Accounting Assistant collaborates with Accounting Department members to achieve the objectives set by internal and external customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required, college, business or banking professional training helpful.
• Solid computer skills with ability to quickly learn multiple software applications
• Ability to work in a general office environment and to work remotely as necessary.
• Moderate lifting (to 35 lbs.) required.
• Moderate reaching, walking, sitting and standing required.
• General office equipment.
• External and internal applications, as well as position incumbents who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential functions (as listed) either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined by management on an individual basis.

Responsibilities

• Works with Accountant Analysts and the Accounting Supervisors to review and analyze general ledger reconciliations and transactions
• Reviews vendor invoices ensuring compliance with proper authorizations and general ledger accounting
• Assists in the preparation and distribution of various periodic and ad hoc reports as needed
• Assists with the month end close process and general ledger accounting
• Interacts harmoniously and effectively with others, focusing upon the attainment of bank goals and objectives through a commitment to teamwork
• Performs other duties as needed to support the Accounting team and the Bank
