About The Position

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges. As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support. The team is dedicated to providing extraordinary support throughout the hire to retire journeys for every Googler. In this role, you will act as a key advisor to leadership, using data-driven insights to influence decision-making and advocating high-ROI initiatives that enhance the employee experience. The position balances core Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) excellence with a forward-looking focus on process automation, AI integration, and durable cost management. The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), or a related function.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SQL or other database, automation or business intelligence skills.
  • Proficiency in investigative and financial modeling skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple teams, navigate complexity, frame problems, structure analyses, and drive impact in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment.
  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment.
  • Strong communication and people management skills, including the ability to work with and influence partners across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Build business cases for key initiatives and provide an independent perspective on the relative merit of each initiative. Advocate allocation of resources to the best ROI use case and in support of advancing Google's goals on people operations core initiatives.
  • Support Core FP&A activities including budgeting, forecasting, variance analytics and reporting. Collaborate with the Data and Analytics team to incorporate tools and technology in core FP&A activities.
  • Partner with other finance teams to ensure Google’s accounting, compliance and other financial requirements are supported.
  • Manage ad-hoc analysis/inquiries with a focus on improved spend management and value creation through durable cost savings.
  • Focus on process improvement and opportunities for extended workforce business processes to the finance hub. Leverage centralized AI tools to enhance analytical precision and deliver high-impact, data driven insights.
