About The Position

Thompson & Johnson Equipment is a growing third-generation family-owned company-seeking a full time Field Technical Trainer. We are the authorized dealer in the industry for the #1 and #2 forklift lines: Toyota and Crown. Job Summary: Responsible for designing, delivering, and managing comprehensive training programs for employees on the repair, installation, maintenance, programming, troubleshooting, and diagnostics of machinery and equipment. Ensures all training, aligns with company standards OEM Standards and OSHA regulatory requirements. This position plays a critical role in elevating technical expertise, promoting safety compliance, and supporting operational excellence throughout the company.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years of forklift technician experience and/or training is required
Expert-level knowledge of forklift systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic)
Diagnostic tools, software, and service documentation
Schematics, service manuals, and technical bulletins
Familiar with multiple forklift brands/models
Understanding of safety standards and compliance requirements
Obtain Toyota Certified Trainer (TCT) and learn Crown LMS system and complete Clark Training program
OEM Portal Experts-teach and guide navigation
Communication, coaching and mentoring, teamwork, empathy and encouragement

Responsibilities

Conducting hands-on, in-field training sessions with technicians and small groups
Leading monthly classroom-based training to reinforce foundational knowledge and best practices
Providing mentorship, leadership, and technical guidance to service technicians and other personnel
Ensuring consistent application of proper methods, processes, and tooling across the service operations
