About The Position

RiverTech, LLC is seeking a hands-on Integrated Communications Field Support Representative (FSR) to provide depot‑level lifecycle support, on‑site/on‑ship technical assistance, training, and casualty response for the U.S. Coast Guard’s WMSL (National Security Cutter) and WPC (Fast Response Cutter) fleets. You will serve as a subject‑matter expert (SME) supporting COMPL (C5ISC Communications Product Line) across short‑ and long‑range shipboard communications, ensuring mission readiness through troubleshooting, repairs, assessments, and configuration management. Primary work location will be Charleston, SC, with travel required to cutter homeports and training locations worldwide. You will work across the full integrated communications suite, including Symphony/ACRMS, IVCS/CIVCS, RFDS, DVL, Iridium, and shipboard EXCOMMs systems. Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of SME‑level experience supporting WMSL/WPC Integrated and External Communications Systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with: L3 Symphony ACRMS
  • L3 IVCS/CIVCS
  • L3 RFDS
  • NexLog DVL
  • Iridium Satellite Telephony
  • Shipboard EXCOMMs systems (VHF/UHF LOS, HF OTH, HF‑ALE, antenna systems)
  • Familiarity with systems from legacy implementations, such as:
  • L3 Automated Communications Manager
  • L3 Symphony Automated Communications Manager
  • L3 IVCS
  • RF distribution systems
  • DVL recorders
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance.
  • Eligibility for CAC/TASS credentialing and completion of required IT security training.
  • Ability to follow all DHS/USCG safety, security, and restricted‑access requirements.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support USCG assets.
  • Ability to work aloft safely on cutter structures, following all applicable safety guidelines (no tower‑climb certification required).
  • Ability to lift and move light equipment such as tools or test devices (typically up to 10 lbs).

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely technical response and support to WMSL/WPC/TRACEN assets, offering SME level troubleshooting, guidance, and casualty resolution for INCOMMS/EXCOMMS systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system discrepancies across Symphony ACRMS, IVCS/CIVCS, RFDS, DVL, Iridium, and other external communications systems.
  • Maintain and update FSR trouble ticket records, incorporating information from O Level requests, EAL entries, and field interactions.
  • Maintain configuration baselines and ensure that system configuration data remains accurate for all supported assets.
  • Support engineering and lifecycle activities, such as repairs, Engineering Changes (ECs), TCTOs, testing, and System Readiness Assessments.
  • Provide training to Ship’s Force (SF) personnel and Electronics Support Detachment (ESD) technicians to build independent operational and maintenance proficiency.
  • Prepare and deliver required technical documentation, including monthly summaries, after action reports, system configuration updates, and calibration documentation for government furnished test equipment.
  • Collaborate with COMPL leadership, Asset Line Managers, ESDs, and other Government/Contractor personnel to meet program goals and operational requirements.
  • Comply with all applicable USCG, DHS, DoD, safety, security, and installation standards, including safe work practices for shipboard environments.
  • Perform legacy technical duties including systems analysis, troubleshooting, database maintenance (ACRM/Symphony, MARCOM), interagency coordination, and supporting USCG PMs as a technical expert.
