About The Position

As part of the UST team and broader Tech24 network, the Field Service Manager plays a critical role in leading and actively participating in field operations related to the service, maintenance, and repair of commercial cooking (hot side) and refrigeration equipment. This role is responsible for performing and overseeing work safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards. The Field Service Manager supervises and supports field technicians, coordinates service schedules, and partners with customers and internal teams to ensure timely resolution of equipment issues. This position is ideal for a strong leader who excels in team development, operational execution, and hands-on troubleshooting in the field, while maintaining a commitment to quality workmanship and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial foodservice service and repair, including hot side cooking equipment (ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, warmers, and related kitchen systems) and refrigeration equipment (walk-ins, reach-ins, ice machines, self-contained units)
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record required
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to guide and mentor technicians
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple service calls and team activities
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills, including managing customer expectations and resolving escalations
  • Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs. and work in varying indoor / outdoor conditions
  • Ability to climb ladders, work from heights, and crawl in tight quarters
  • Familiarity with field service tools and equipment; industry-standard hand tools preferred
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience leading or supervising field service teams is highly preferred
  • EPA Universal certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage field service operations for commercial cooking equipment including ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, warmers, and related kitchen systems, ensuring high-quality service and repair in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Lead service efforts for refrigeration equipment including walk-ins, reach-ins, ice machines, and self-contained units, ensuring optimal performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise, coach, and support field technicians, providing technical guidance and ensuring adherence to service standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate and prioritize service schedules to ensure timely response to customer needs and minimize equipment downtime
  • Review and support complex troubleshooting and repair efforts, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure all service work involving gas, electrical, and mechanical systems is performed safely and in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Partner with customers and internal teams to deliver a high level of service, maintain strong relationships, and resolve escalations as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Support ongoing training and professional development to enhance team capability and technical expertise.
