About The Position

Are you the new customer-focused Field Service Expert and Team Player for Valmet’s Automation Business line? Valmet is where talented professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds come together to serve the customer. Valmet is looking for an individual to perform day-to-day maintenance and repair of our analyzer equipment at a customer sites, typically within the Alabama area, mostly within the pulp and paper industry. As a Valmet analyzer specialist, you will act as liaison between the customer and Valmet’s advanced process control group. As a Service Engineer, you will be based near Prattville but work at multiple customer sites and provide preventive and predictive maintenance on Valmet analyzers and measurement devices. Ideal candidates will have: · A bachelor’s or associates degree in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Chemical or Paper engineering with relevant experience. · Instrumentation and controls background. · Have a good understanding of paper making processes. · Good working knowledge of Windows and networking, knowledge of Word and Excel. · Good interpersonal skills. Our employees interact with confidence within all organizational levels. · The ability to use tools appropriately and in a safe manner. · Be able to lift up to 30lbs · Strong fault-finding skills and a paying attention to detail. · The ability to self-manage time and work with little to no supervision. Day to day activities will include: · Ensure peak performance of Valmet’s process analyzers at customer sites. · Daily customer meetings to determine the scope of what is needed and follow up on work that has been performed. · Constant customer training and interactions with operations to be sure equipment is performing and being utilized as expected. · Perform sensor correlations. · Perform preventive and remedial maintenance and fault finding as needed, including daily cleaning and performance checks. · Provide emergency, remote, phone and internet support to customers. · Generate quality reports.

Requirements
