About The Position

As a Field Service Engineer for Agilent, you will work at a variety of labs, so having an appetite for continuously learning about new instruments, software, and consumables is key. Applying your communication skills, creativity, and can-do attitude is essential. The ability to help solve customer problems and a commitment to delivering the highest levels of customer service are how you will build customer success. Your Role: As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting our customers with on-site installation, implementation, maintenance, and repair of company- and multi-vendor systems. Our product lines include hardware, software, networking products, and operating systems.

Requirements

  • Must consent to participate and meet Agilent-approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain access to customer sites. Requirements may include, but are not limited to, proof of identification, proof of certification to perform the work required, customer health and safety requirements, etc.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline—such as chemistry, analytical sciences, biomedical engineering—or equivalent education and experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in a similar position in field service or experience as an end-user with the GCMS instrumentation.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Verbal and written communication is clear, respectful, and timely.
  • You have a valid driver's license.
  • Enjoy traveling and visiting customers, including some overnight travel as needed.
  • Must have own means of transportation.
  • The ideal candidate must reside in Connecticut.
  • Daily Travel is expected, with overnight and weekend travel as needed.
  • The ability to travel up to 30%.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Agilent solutions is desired but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Installs and optimizes hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites.
  • Diagnoses and resolves product performance problems.
  • Performs maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations that may affect product performance.
  • Proactively responds to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business.
  • Deliver fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems, and application software.
  • Train other field engineers and customers in the solutions.

  • The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $34.00 - $56.84/hr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits.
