About The Position

Field Safety SpecialistJoin a company that’s dedicated to building a culture of safety and excellence. HazTek is seeking an experienced Field Safety Representative to support and elevate the safety culture in Rahway, NJ. This role is highly visible and field-focused, partnering closely with owner representatives, project managers, EPCMs, and trade partners to drive a Zero Harm environment across active construction projects. This individual will perform regular field reviews, identify and mitigate hazards, and coach teams at all levels to continuously improve safety performance. Candidates with experience in systems commissioning, qualification, and validation are strongly preferred. Periodic shift work may be required. Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of construction safety experience
  • 4-year degree or demonstrated progressive safety experience
  • OSHA 510 required; OSHA 500 strongly recommended
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with owners, project leadership, construction management teams, and labor

Nice To Haves

  • Pharmaceutical construction experience preferred
  • Experience or familiarity with Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation strongly desired

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular field safety reviews and document job site conditions
  • Lead JSA/SPA programs and administer site Zero Harm initiatives (SORs, Near Miss, First Aid reporting)
  • Coordinate site safety activities with owner and project leadership, including participation in weekly safety meetings
  • Ensure compliance with site standards, HazTek policies, and OSHA regulations through inspections, audits, and safety walks
  • Mentor project teams and contractor leadership to strengthen hazard recognition, safe behaviors, and overall safety culture
