About The Position

The GWES Associate Director, Emergency Services, will be responsible for providing guidance, oversight, and management of both our Company's Fire Department and Site Contract Security Operations and Emergency Response at the Rahway, NJ Campus. The role will collaborate with cross functional teams and site Facility Management operations to effectively and safely operate and maintain the site emergency response systems and processes. Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the following: Provides direction and leadership for Fire Department, Site Security, Emergency Response, Rescue planning, training, and execution. Provides direction and leadership for the General Emergency Mobilization Systems for the site and serves as a liaison with the local municipalities and County Collaborates with Global Security, Safety, Health Services, and external partners to deliver and support all response (fire, security, emergency) needs of the facilities. Ensure IFM Partner meets all contractual obligations including all service level agreements (SLA's) and key performance indicators (KPI's) for Fire, Security and Emergency Response. Provide oversight for maintaining and operating all the security systems, employee badging, electronic access control, video management system (CCTV), fire alarm detection and suppression systems, fixed and portable fire protection systems, ensuring proper functioning, and training. Develop Internal best practices to benchmark externally to the standards for the industry. Leverage relationships with key clients/customers/organizational leadership to ensure support of business needs and accomplishments of key objectives. Responsible for investigating local site security incidents and capturing lessons learned to improve work processes and/or drive improvements to physical security infrastructure. Identify, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure the efficiency and effectiveness of emergency response. Develop and maintain operational processes to ensure Emergency Response Procedures and Security Standards are maintained and modified as needed. Leverage internal and external benchmarking to identify leading industry practices to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 8 years progressing responsibility in emergency services leadership, ideally with:
  • Direct command or supervisory roles in a fire department or industrial/fire brigade environment
  • Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure and respond rapidly to breaking situations.
  • Managing integrated emergency response programs (fire, medical, security)
  • Collaboration with municipal/county agencies and mutual aid partners; experience as a liaison to public authorities
  • Ownership of emergency plans, mobilization systems, drills/exercises, after-action reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience with security and life safety systems
  • Experience developing training programs and readiness drills
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Background in investigations.
  • Computer skills using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point etc.) and operation of other peripheral devices.

Nice To Haves

  • Oversight of contract security providers (IFM partners), including performance management against SLAs and KPIs
  • Experience with External Partner Management and Townships/Fire Departments
  • Fire/EMS: NFPA-compliant training, Incident Safety Officer, FEMA certifications, Hazardous Materials awareness/operations; Confined Space/Technical Rescue
  • Security/Protection: Physical Security Professional (PSP), Experience with electronic access control and video management systems (e.g., Lenel OnGuard, CCure, Genetec)
  • Safety/Facilities: OSHA 30-hour (General Industry), NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems, Familiarity with NFPA codes (NFPA 72, 101, 70, 25, 13), International Fire Code, and local NJ regulations
  • Experience with Collective Bargaining units and execution of a CBA.
  • Incident Command training and major incident management exercises
  • Budgeting, resource planning, and capital projects tied to safety/security systems
