About The Position

The Field Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and promoting health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices at field project sites. This role ensures compliance with company policies, client requirements, and federal, state, and local regulations. The Field Safety Manager partners with the corporate safety manager, program managers, supervisors, and field personnel to create a safe work environment and foster a culture of safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, environmental science, engineering (safety, industrial, electrical, etc.), safety management, construction management, or related field OR equivalent field experience.
  • 5+ years of safety leadership experience including supervising safety programs, investigations, and training.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour, Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), or equivalent (active certifications preferred or ability to obtain certifications within 90 days).
  • Ability to interpret, implement, and enforce regulations across operational environments.
  • Proven experience conducting site safety audits, inspections, incident investigations, hazard identification, risks assessments and corrective action planning.
  • Track record of developing safety policies, conducting audits, driving cultural change, and managing incident reporting.
  • Capability to lead safety programs, coordinate across departments, and manage cross-functional initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, state, federal, and industry safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Strong communication, both verbal and written, for training, reporting and working with business leaders.
  • Strong observation, documentation and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel to company offices and work sites as required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
  • Perform the essential functions and physical demands of the position with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety plans, programs, and procedures.
  • Conduct daily jobsite inspections to identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and verify compliance.
  • Lead safety orientations, safety huddle talks, and ongoing training sessions for employees and subcontractors.
  • Investigate incidents, near-misses, and safety violations; prepare reports and recommend preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, training, and compliance audits.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a resource for supervisors and employees regarding safety practices, PPE, and hazard recognition.
  • Collaborate with project management to integrate safety into planning and execution of field operations.
  • Monitor subcontractor safety performance and enforce adherence to project safety standards.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, communication, and continuous improvement in workplace safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
