Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Formal training and/or experience maintaining and repairing power electronics equipment (ABB, APC, Eaton, Eltek, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Vertiv).
  • Valid current driver's license and driving record that meets company standards required.
  • Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) 10 or 30 training certificate
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Certificate
  • Performing preventative maintenance and diagnostics on UPS systems, 25KVA and larger systems preferred.
  • Performing preventative maintenance and diagnostics on batteries (VRLA, wet cell, Lithium Ion).
  • Performing impedance/conductance measurements.
  • A minimum of three years of education background, relevant work or related military experience in power electronics systems, battery technologies, and electronics repair.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, diagnostic capabilities, and the ability to learn new technologies and systems.
  • Ability to read schematics drawings and company technical publications.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and knowledge of troubleshooting, testing and repair techniques.
  • Good understanding of single-phase and three-phase circuit theory, analog and digital electronic circuit theory, and microprocessor controls and programming.
  • Solid understanding of NFPA 70E work practices and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Understand how to perform phase rotation and phase alignment checks.
  • Basic understanding of network functionality and sealed and wet-celled battery theory and application
  • MS Office skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide battery and equipment replacement when necessary.
  • Perform Quality Control and Site Inspections.
  • Analyze test data and recognize deviation from acceptable values.
  • Manage company assets, control personal inventory, and upload all field activity reports.
  • Complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Take ownership of an assigned task and see it through to completion.
  • Responsible for meeting annual goals set forth by Management (utilization, work completion, etc.).
  • Provide ongoing customer support and meet customer service requirements.
  • Extensive daily travel with an independent work structure.
  • Work varied shifts to support our 7/24/365-day operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and serve on a rotating on-call team to respond to emergency calls.
