About The Position

As a Field Ops Technician at Empire Access, you will play a crucial role in establishing and supporting reliable connectivity for our customers. Your primary responsibilities will include installing, maintaining, and repairing telephone, internet, and fiber optic services. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting telephone, internet, and fiber optic systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments, climb poles or ladders, and lift heavy equipment.
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with other technicians and support teams.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency repair situations.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed to meet customer needs.
  • May be required to pass background check via fingerprinting. Only applicable to techs providing services in New York State.
  • 1-3 years of experience in telecommunications or technology related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification or associate degree preferred.
  • Experience in customer service support role

Responsibilities

  • Install and set up telephone, internet, and fiber optic services at customer locations.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure the continued functionality of installed systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to connectivity, ensuring minimal downtime for customers.
  • Conduct repairs on faulty equipment, cables, and connections to restore services promptly.
  • Interact with customers professionally, addressing inquiries, providing technical support, and ensuring overall customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure adherence to company standards and quality benchmarks in all installation and repair tasks.
