About The Position

The Field Operations Manager leads GIS’s nationwide installation operations and oversees a team of Travel/Field Project Managers and a Field Coordinator responsible for executing warehouse labeling and signage projects across North America. This role owns quoting, planning, staffing, scheduling, and field execution to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to customer expectations. The Field Operations Manager serves as the operational leader for all field activities and as the primary escalation point for complex projects and client needs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of operations, field services, or project management leadership experience
  • Experience managing supervisors or project managers
  • Strong budgeting, quoting, and job costing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously
  • Willingness and ability to travel 20% - 40% annually
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in warehouse, installation, construction, signage, or logistics environments (preferred)
  • Knowledge of safety standards and equipment operations (forklifts, scissor lifts, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership Directly manage, coach, and develop approximately 12-16 Travel/Field Project Manager
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and workforce planning
  • Establish clear expectations, accountability, and consistent field standards
  • Provide support and escalation management for high-risk or high-visibility projects
  • Project & Operational Management Oversee full project lifecycle from quote through close-out
  • Review and approve project quotes, budgets, labor plans, and schedules
  • Prepare and/or oversee creation of project label and signage print data files during the quoting phase to validate scope, quantities, and production requirements, ensuring accurate pricing and project readiness
  • Forecast staffing, travel, and equipment needs across concurrent projects
  • Monitor profitability, labor utilization, timelines, and quality metrics
  • Ensure projects meet scope, safety, and customer requirements
  • Field Execution & Client Support Travel to job sites as needed (up to 40%) to support launches, audits, and escalations
  • Act as senior point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders
  • Resolve operational, logistical, or personnel challenges in real time
  • Reinforce compliance with safety policies and site-specific standards
  • Process Improvement Develop and standardize processes for quoting, scheduling, reporting, and communication
  • Partner with Operations, Production, and Customer Service teams to improve workflows
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and performance reporting
