About The Position

The Field Operations Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, and deploying the company’s internal construction workforce across active projects. This role ensures job sites are properly staffed with qualified employees, project labor demands are met, and workforce resources are optimized to maintain productivity, cost control, and schedule adherence. This position does not perform external recruiting but focuses on internal workforce coordination and employee assignment.

Requirements

3+ years experience in construction operations, workforce planning, or field management.
Proficiency in scheduling or workforce management software.
Strong understanding of construction trades and project workflows.
Proven ability to manage schedules and resource allocation.
Knowledge of safety regulations and labor compliance.
Excellent communication and decision-making skills.

Experience managing non-union or multi-site electrical construction workforces, preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan and assign internal field personnel to projects based on labor needs, skills, and certifications.
Maintain workforce schedules and adjust assignments as project timelines change.
Partner with project managers and field supervisors to forecast labor demand.
Monitor workforce utilization, availability, and productivity.
Track labor hours, overtime, and job cost impacts.
Serve as the central point of contact for internal workforce deployment and reassignments.
Ensure employees maintain required training, certifications, and safety compliance.
Support employee relations, attendance management, and performance discussions in coordination with HR.
Develop and maintain workforce tracking systems and reporting metrics.
Respond quickly to staffing gaps, call-offs, and project priority shifts.
Coordinate travel or per diem arrangements when required for project assignments.
Performs other duties as needed to support projects, operations, and the department.
