About The Position

The Field Communications Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting field-based communication and networking systems that support operational infrastructure. This role works hands-on with wireless communication equipment, networking devices, and power systems in outdoor environments. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, technically skilled, and comfortable working independently in remote field locations.

Requirements

Experience with outdoor wireless communication systems (Hitachi TropOS, Cambium, etc.)
Basic networking knowledge including:
IP addressing
VLANs
Connectivity troubleshooting
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Comfortable working at heights when required
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Reliable and self-motivated
Must meet conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, MVR, fit for duty and agility.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain field communication equipment including:
Wireless radios (e.g., Hitachi TropOS, Cambium point-to-multipoint systems)
Network switches and connectivity hardware
Surveillance and security camera systems
Solar-powered systems and related components
Perform minor electrical work, primarily involving 24V and 48V DC systems
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and network issues in a timely and efficient manner
Create, update, and manage service tickets with accurate and detailed information
Maintain clear and thorough documentation of installations, repairs, and system changes
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety and operational standards
