Field Bike Mechanic
About The Position
Motivate is seeking Part-Time Field Bike Mechanics to perform bike inspection, maintenance, and repairs across its bikeshare network of docking stations during the busy riding season. Training will be provided for the technical and unique aspects of bikeshare bikes. Requirements
- Mechanically inclined and knowledgeable in completing repairs
- Strong commitment to safe work practices
- Willing to work interchangeably outdoors traveling on a bike throughout our network of stations and indoors in our bike repair depots as needed
- Dependable, willing and able to work scheduled shifts, including off hours and/or weekends as needed
- Ability to lift to 75 pounds, stoop, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience working with professional bicycles or similar mechanical repairs preferred
Responsibilities
- Complete bike maintenance, inspections, and repairs in a professional and timely manner, with a focus on quality, productivity, and safety in the field on an assigned route
- Keep detailed, accurate records of repairs using a smartphone
- Stock, organize, and use various repair tools, supplies, and other equipment
- Maintain compliance with standard operating procedures and repair methods
- Follow all safety regulations and protocols, promptly reporting safety concerns to management
