About The Position

Atlantic Health is searching for a fully qualified Field Athletic Trainer for their Sports Medicine department. The Field Athletic Trainer has advanced sports medicine knowledge and evidence-based practice experience to provide athletic training services to AHS affiliated School or Team Organization to autonomously provide medical care to all athletes affiliated with designated School or Team Organization.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE accredited program
  • Active BOC certification
  • NJ Athletic Training License in good standing
  • BLS Certification

Responsibilities

  • Administrative supervision of affiliated School or Team Organization's Athletic Training Department
  • Daily supervision of direct reports
  • Provide feedback on performance and submit comments on annual performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Oversees hiring, promotions, and transfers for direct reports
  • Establishes weekly work schedules for physicians and direct reports
  • Establishes and adjusts athletic training room hours of operation based on athlete and athletic department needs
  • Annually develops and revises emergency action plans to ensure compliance with standards of best practice and relevant rules and regulations.
  • Provides educational opportunities focused on overall athlete wellness and injury prevention for athletes, coaches, and medical staff as indicated
  • Manages and resolves complex grievances related to the medical care provided to athletes
  • Acts as liaison between athlete and physician
  • Clinical supervision of affiliated School or Team Organization's Athletic Training Program
  • Perform history and physical examinations on indicated athletes
  • Use clinical judgement to coordinate referrals and follow-up care on indicated athletes
  • Provide emergency medical coverage during all home athletic events
  • Deliver treatment and rehabilitation to indicated athletes
  • Promotes, develop, and implement safety and injury prevention measures
  • Schedule on campus injury clinics and pre-participation physicals
  • Maintain HIPPA compliant medical records
