This position within the Operations Division of the Maricopa County Public Fiduciary carries real weight. You’ll manage the full spectrum of fiduciary accounts payable and receivable functions, handling complex collection trust accounting on behalf of clients who depend on our department to safeguard their financial well-being. The accuracy of your work, the relationships you build, and the care you bring to every transaction directly support the people at the heart of our mission. Requirements

Two years of accounting, bookkeeping, finance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or purchasing experience
High school diploma or GED
Post-secondary education may substitute for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona Driver’s License by the time of hire

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
Three or more years of accounting, bookkeeping, finance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or purchasing experience
Two or more years of banking experience or Trust/Fiduciary Accounting Experience with court filings, scheduling hearings, and reviewing minute entries and court orders
Experience with iCIS for research and compliance tracking
Proficiency in CGI Advantage Financial System
Licensed Fiduciary with the Arizona Supreme Court

Responsibilities

Prepare and process fiduciary accounts, payables, and recurring expenditures with accuracy and attention to detail
Manage and process all claims and invoices for daily payments, ensuring complete and proper documentation at every step
Provide timely and accurate posting of receipts and disbursements in strict accordance with departmental segregation of duties
Perform Electronic Funds Transactions (EFTs) with precision and in compliance with all applicable standards
Manage the Positive Pay system through ongoing coordination with financial institutions, maintaining the integrity of every transaction
Monitor client account balances monthly to ensure the continuance of government income entitlements, with careful attention to over-resource threshold requirements
Review documents to determine applicability and accuracy prior to entry into county and department systems, serving as a critical quality control checkpoint
Create and monitor all financial action requests through the department’s SharePoint system
Support the broader Operations Division with financial expertise and collaborative problem-solving
Build and sustain strong working relationships with staff, client providers, and representatives from state and local agencies
Serve as a knowledgeable and compassionate point of contact for the public, understanding that many individuals who interact with our department are navigating difficult circumstances
