About The Position

Designs by Sundown is seeking an experienced Fencing Field Supervisor to join our growing team. The Fencing Field Supervisor oversees day‑to‑day field production activities related to fencing installations, repairs, and maintenance for residential and commercial landscape projects. This role ensures crews execute work safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards. The Fencing Field Supervisor plays a key role in scheduling, training, field coordination, customer communication, and ensuring operational excellence across all fencing jobs.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in fencing installation or landscape construction.
  • 1–2 years of leadership or crew supervisor experience.
  • Strong knowledge of fencing types (wood, vinyl, chain link, ornamental steel, etc.).
  • Ability to read construction plans and interpret measurements.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in landscape or construction project management.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification.
  • Equipment operation skills (augers, skid loaders, post pounders, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Field Leadership & Crew Management · Lead, supervise, and support fencing installation and repair crews across multiple job sites.
  • Assign daily work tasks, monitor performance, and provide on‑the‑job coaching.
  • Ensure crews follow safety protocols, equipment procedures, and installation standards.
  • Conduct daily jobsite check‑ins and quality inspections.
  • Project Coordination · Review project plans, specifications, and timelines to prepare crews and materials.
  • Collaborate with Production Managers, Account Managers, and Project Managers to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Maintain an accurate daily schedule, adjusting staffing and resources based on project needs.
  • Communicate job progress, delays, or issues promptly to leadership.
  • Quality Assurance · Ensure all fencing installations meet company workmanship standards and client requirements.
  • Identify and resolve jobsite issues, rework needs, or material concerns proactively.
  • Conduct final quality checks before project completion.
  • Customer Interaction · Serve as the primary field contact for clients during active fencing projects.
  • Address customer questions or concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Support the sales team with technical expertise during pre‑construction walkthroughs, when needed.
  • Safety & Compliance · Enforce all OSHA safety standards and company safety policies.
  • Conduct routine safety meetings and document incidents or near misses.
  • Ensure crews use PPE and equipment properly at all times.
  • Equipment & Materials Management · Oversee daily inventory of tools, equipment, and materials needed for fencing projects.
  • Coordinate deliveries, rentals, and maintenance with internal teams and vendors.
  • Reduce waste and optimize material usage on each job.
  • Administrative Duties · Complete daily job logs, timekeeping approvals, and field documentation.
  • Assist with cost tracking, job budgets, and production metrics.
  • Support onboarding and training of new fencing crew members.
