About The Position

Seeking a Fellow Engineer - Structural Analyst to support our federal government client in Aiken, SC. Application Deadline: Thursday, 02/05/2026 at 12:00 noon EST. The Contractor will perform the following duties: Apply technical experience in ﬁeld of specialization or broad-based experience in multiple technical ﬁelds, and use other technical resources within the company, to resolve complex problems. Incorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and diﬃcult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning. Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area(s) of technical expertise. Develop solutions to complex technical problems in ﬁelds of expertise. Keep informed on technical needs within the company and technical trends in the area of expertise in the external world. Be aware of the capabilities of the work group and the needs of its customers. Identify technical programs which can be carried out with little guidance and take the initiative to accomplish them. Lead task teams for developing solutions to more complex problems. Prepare plans including schedules, budgets and personnel requirements for solving major technical tasks identiﬁed by management. Develop schedules, monitor progress, monitor expenditures of the budget, and review the quality of work performed. Include research, development, testing, quality assurance requirements. Communicate the results and objectives verbally and in manuscript form to customers, colleagues, managers and oversight groups. Prepare reports for external publication. Additional Duties Provide advanced analysis and design of all types of buildings and structures for normal and accident loading conditions. Advanced structural analytical capabilities include dynamic seismic analysis (response spectra and time-history), generation of in-structure seismic response spectra, tornado winds, missile penetration, and precipitation (rain, ﬂood, snow). Engineering services shall be provided using the client processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided. Work Hours: Up to a 40-hour work week is scheduled. The client utilizes various work schedules including 5/8s (8 hour/day; ﬁve days per week), 4/10’s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80’s (9 hours/day, ﬁve days on week AA and four days on week BB. Work week excludes the client holidays. Each workday has a 30-minute lunch. Over time will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Manager. The anticipated work schedule is 6:45am to 5:15 pm EST. Area Security Access: Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance. Qualifications: Considered an internal expert in the area of expertise. Contributes to advancing knowledge in ﬁeld of expertise through various avenues such as internal and external publications and professional society presentations. Can solve complex problems in the ﬁeld. Must demonstrate 8 years of recent experience in the design and analysis of NRC or DOE-regulated nuclear facilities Experience with finite element analysis Must demonstrate working knowledge of STAAD, ANSYS or ABAQUS or similar computer codes Must demonstrate working knowledge of National Codes and Standards; specifically, IBC, AISC (ASD, LRFD, & N690), ACI (318 & 349) and ASCE (4, 7 & 43) Must be able to perform field walk-downs of the job site for the engineering work being performed. These walk downs may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress , walking for distance over a half mile, climbing ladders to access remote areas, and dressing out in protective clothing Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance Education An advanced Civil Engineering degree and relevant experience, a Ph.D. degree and about 10 years' experience. OR A MS degree and 12 years' experience. OR A BS degree and approximately 15 years' experience. Requirements
