About The Position

Incumbents in this position provide leadership and direction in the effective operation and maintenance of equipment and processes. This role ensures work is performed safely, efficiently, and in an environmentally responsible manner, in compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Responsibilities include supervising, scheduling, evaluating, training, and motivating hourly personnel while maintaining a high level of confidentiality. The incumbent is expected to lead process, organizational, and personnel improvement initiatives. They must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, represent leadership positively, and proactively identify equipment and process vulnerabilities, developing actionable plans to address them.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Two or more years of related experience and/or training.
  • Progressive experience in an industrial environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Control costs within budget parameters.
  • Ensure equipment uptime and accurately account for downtime.
  • Organize outages to minimize downtime by establishing effective cross‑departmental partnerships.
  • Maintain strong communication across departments, crews, and supervisory staff.
  • Ensure direct reports have the necessary training, tools, and resources to work safely and efficiently.
  • Participate in and support the CARE About Safety program.
  • Encourage innovative thinking and continuous improvement.
  • Lead by example, maintain open communication, coach hourly employees, and provide training opportunities.
  • Set goals, conduct performance evaluations, and address employee work issues.
  • Uphold respectful workplace policies and enforce work rules.
  • Strengthen workplace safety through compliance, inspections, and training.
  • Ensure environmental compliance through proper knowledge and enforcement of procedures and requirements.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards.
  • Supervise operating, maintenance, and troubleshooting processes.
  • Communicate clear processes and procedures to direct reports.
  • Attend internal and external technical and supervisory training sessions.
  • Troubleshoot, monitor, and maintain equipment.
  • Complete required reports and inspections.
