About The Position

Get to know Thompson! Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Thompson’s continuum of care encompasses three domains: prevention, mental health services, and foster care. Our values are Excellence, Innovation, Commitment, Caring and Integrity. What will you do as a Family Support Worker? As a Family Support Worker in the Florida Case Management Organization (CMO) department, you will provide transportation of youth to/from out-of-home care placements, to/from school, and to/from visits. Family Support Workers also supervise parent visits. A typical day as a Family Support Worker will include managing crisis, de-escalating youth and adults, and driving. As a Family Support Worker, a large amount of time is spent face to face with high need teenagers transporting them. Work hours vary based on shift and client demand, an on-call schedule for nights and weekends is required. What does this position offer? Requirements

High School diploma/GED required; A.A. preferred
A minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience (human services or childcare experience preferred)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Must have reliable vehicle/transportation
A valid driver’s license, at least 3 years of driving with a driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
Must meet any credentialing, licensing and privileging standards as it pertains to the department
All potential job candidates must pass a drug screening test, and an extensive background check is required.
