About The Position

The primary responsibility of a Family Resource Specialist (FRS) is to provide home and community-based services designed to promote safe and stable families, support family strength and stability, enhance parental functioning, and protect children. The FRS will provide services for up to 6 months to include assessment, service planning, parental education and skill-building, assistance with concrete needs, behavioral management and intervention, and development of a family's resources. Family Resource Connection and Preservation Services (FRCPS) are short-term, family-focused services designed to assist families by improving parenting and family functioning while keeping children safe. These services recognize that children need safe and stable families and that separating children from their families is traumatic for them, often leaving lasting negative effects. These services build upon the principle that many children can safely remain in their homes when their caregivers are provided with services and support that empower them to make positive changes.
