About The Position

Conduct patient intake, assessment, past medical history, vaccine status, vital statistics, and medication reconciliation in preparation for provider visit in EHR. Respects the confidentiality of patient records, and uses complete discretion when discussing patient information in accordance to HIPAA. Utilizes all department forms and documents in EHRs appropriately. Collect, label and transport all specimens appropriately. Demonstrates proper techniques when setting up procedures. Assist with minor procedures such as wound care, injections, EKGs, and point-of-care tests. Assist with gynecologic and reproductive health visits, including colposcopies, endometrial biopsies and other in-office gynecologic procedures. Administer immunizations, medications, and treatments per clinic protocols and provider orders. Able to identify victims and the process for reporting abuse. Provide patient education on preventive women's health topics (breast health, menstrual health, perimenopause/menopause, contraception). Support prenatal and postpartum care within the scope of the primary care setting. Coordinate referrals to OB/GYN, reproductive specialists, or community resources when needed. Demonstrates knowledge of emergency and routine equipment and procedures. Collaborates with patient care planning. Actively participates in education specific to patient diagnosis and needs. Maintains compliance within department, clinic and state and federal regulations and policies. Record all phone interactions with patients in the EHR. Working knowledge of phone and phone etiquette. Properly care for instruments i.e. cleaning, packaging, sterilizing as appropriate. Participates in mandatory in-services and attends staff meetings. Follows MRH policy and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness and participates in drills. Acts as a resource person to other staff members. Positive and supportive team member to staff members and other departments within the organization. Participates in process improvement teams or in interdepartmental efforts. Act as a liaison between patients, families, providers and staff. Complete workload as assigned. Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age (21 for driving positions with a valid driver’s license).
  • Must be able to legally work in the United States.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
  • Must complete employee health meeting.
  • Current Colorado RN license or Compact license
  • Current BLS certification (must be obtained within 90 days of hire).

Nice To Haves

  • One-year clinic experience preferred.
  • Women’s health experience preferred.
