About The Position

Equivity is seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal to support attorneys handling a wide range of matters, including divorce, paternity, child custody and support, domestic violence injunctions, and post-judgment modifications. In this role, you will work as part of a dedicated, long-term team of legal professionals, partnering directly with attorneys while remaining fully supported by Equivity’s internal operations and leadership. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of family law who can manage multiple cases, anticipate attorney needs, and thrive in a remote environment. Equivity provides ongoing work with established attorneys while maintaining the flexibility of remote work. You will be supported by an experienced operations team and work in a collaborative, professional environment that values quality and long-term relationships. Equivity provides virtual paralegal, administrative, reception, staffing and marketing services to attorneys and businesses nationwide, operating remotely while maintaining a collaborative, professional environment built on long-term support, consistency, and client success.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of family law experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Minimum availability of 20 hours/week to start
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skill
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe
  • Availability and responsiveness within 1 hour during standard business hours (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with legal software (Clio or similar is a plus)
  • Windows-based computer preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage family law cases from intake through resolution, including discovery, mediation, and trial preparation.
  • Maintain organized electronic case files and ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Draft, edit, and file pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and financial affidavits in compliance with Rules of Procedure and local court requirements.
  • Coordinate e-filings through state courts and maintain accurate proof of service and filing records.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests, compile and analyze financial disclosures, and assist with preparation of equitable distribution schedules.
  • Maintain professional and responsive communication with clients, providing updates, gathering information, and ensuring they understand each stage of the case.
  • Coordinate with court personnel, opposing counsel, mediators, and experts to facilitate hearings, mediation, and scheduling.
  • Prepare exhibits, witness lists, trial binders, and related materials; assist attorneys during mediation and trial as needed.
  • Manage calendars, track deadlines, and ensure case files and correspondence are accurately maintained.
