About The Position
Goranson Bain Ausley is seeking a Family Law Paralegal to join our Dallas office! The Paralegal will work closely with a Dallas Partner to support the firm's clients in a manner that is consistent with our core values and vision. The right candidate must have 5+ years of Texas Family Law experience along with attention to detail, strong organizational and drafting skills, and the ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Texas Family Law experience
- Solid understanding of the Texas Family Code and the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, with superior attention to detail
- Excellent prioritization, problem solving and time management skills
- Ability to learn and utilize new software, technology and techniques as needed to meet the changing demands of the legal marketplace
- Creativity, flexibility, and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment
Nice To Haves
- An undergraduate degree preferred but not required
- Paralegal certificate or certification preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and court orders for review, approval, and use by attorney.
- Correspond with clients and prepare spreadsheets and documents for the Inventory and Appraisement and Proposed Support Decision.
- File pleadings with court clerks.
- Coordinate delivery of subpoenas to witnesses and parties to action.
- Conduct intake calls with potential new clients and prepare attorneys for initial consultation.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for mediations, depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences.
- Assist attorneys in analyzing and resolving recurring problems that arise in family law cases.
- Draft discovery requests, calendar relevant due dates, and prepare correspondence to opposing counsels and/or opposing parties.
- Assist clients to comply with discovery requests and compile requested documents.
