About The Position

The Family Engagement Specialist is an IN PERSON position working under direction of the Parent and Family Engagement Manager. Family Case Managers will be responsible for assisting the families in their homes or community in efforts to promote family well-being, positive parent-child relationships, families as lifelong educators, families as lifelong learner, family engagement in transitions, family connections to peers and community, and families as advocates and leaders. The Family Case Manager will identify, educate, and connect families to community resources, encourage appropriate utilization of services, assist in the recruitment process, and actively facilitating and encouraging parent participation in center and program related events. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Social Services, Sociology, Psychology and a minimum five years of related experience.
  • Incumbent must have a working knowledge of Head Start policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Must possess and be able to demonstrate strong positive attitude and a strong commitment to the organizations’ s mission.
  • High level proficiency in administrative tasks and organizational skills, with the ability to keep projects on track.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Great attention to detail and a willingness to do what’s necessary to achieve ORGANIZATION’s goals.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals and organizations.
  • Proven track record of working well in a team environment with the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Criminal Background Check w/Fingerprints - subsequent to qualifying letter

  • Current TB Test
  • Subject to background check and drug screen prior to employment
  • Submission to ongoing random drug screening
