About The Position

The College of Health Professions at Mercer University invites applications for a full-time faculty member with a focus in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies. This is a 12-month, non-tenure track position. The Department of Physician Assistant Studies is in a progressive and innovative College that emphasizes evidence-based and integrative approaches to health and collaboration with the other programs in the College (Physical Therapy, Public Health, Clinical Psychology, Athletic Training, and Kinesiology). Responsibilities include graduate student classroom and laboratory instruction and evaluation; advisement and mentoring of students; small group instruction; committee involvement; admissions activities; professional organization engagement; and scholarly activities to include grants, publications, and presentations. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and community service. Requirements

  • A graduate of an accredited master’s degree physician assistant program with a current NCCPA certification and immediate eligibility for physician assistant licensure in Georgia, or a graduate of an accredited medical school with current licensure as an allopathic or osteopathic physician in Georgia and certified by an ABMS- or AOA-approved specialty board.
  • Clinical experience as a practicing PA, DO, or MD required.

  • Prior teaching experience and a record of peer-reviewed scholarly activity preferred.
