About The Position

The College of Business (COB) at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide (ERAU-W) invites applications for a Faculty of the Practice position to teach Business Law in an online modality. There is flexibility regarding the teaching of additional business courses, depending on the candidate’s academic and professional qualifications. The successful candidate will be expected to meet expectations for teaching, service, and maintenance of academic qualifications commensurate with the position, the College’s accrediting agencies, and the rights, duties, and obligations of a faculty member of similar rank, as set out in the academic policies of the College and the University. This is a remote position and will require an at-home office. The successful candidate will primarily teach undergraduate business law courses. The typical teaching load is 24 credit hours per academic year, which extends from August 1 to May 31. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, remaining current in the profession, and providing service to the department, college, university, and profession. The faculty member will also develop, maintain, and assess courses and curricula as needed and assigned. Willingness to travel to attend meetings and conferences is required, although travel is limited.

Requirements

  • Master of Laws (ML), LL.M., or an equivalent closely related discipline with at least 18 graduate credit hours in business law
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • A clearly defined teaching philosophy
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and mentor students from diverse backgrounds in a remote learning environment
  • Willingness to travel as required (approximately 5–10%)

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to candidates holding a Juris Doctor (JD) degree
  • Previous higher education level teaching experience preferred
  • Experience in online course design and development preferred
  • Experience with online learning management systems preferred
  • Candidates with prior professional or research experience in the aviation or aerospace industry, are encouraged to apply.
  • Those who have a strong knowledge of commercial aviation regulation and law, are particularly encouraged to apply.
