About The Position

D’Youville University College of Osteopathic Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Pathology. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of general and systemic pathology within the preclinical osteopathic medical curriculum. The faculty member will teach core concepts in disease mechanisms, cellular injury, inflammation, neoplasia, and organ-system pathology, ensuring alignment with osteopathic education standards and COMLEX expectations.

Requirements

  • Education: D.O., M.D. (board certified or board eligible in Pathology preferred) or Ph.D. in Pathology with substantial medical education experience and clinical integration.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience at the medical school.
  • Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated ability to deliver rigorous biomedical content within an integrated curriculum.

  • Experience teaching pathology in an osteopathic or allopathic medical school.
  • Ability to integrate pathology concepts into systems-based and case-based curricula.
  • Familiarity with COMLEX expectations and NBOME blueprinting.
  • Record of scholarly productivity and student mentorship.
  • Experience with virtual microscopy or interactive pathology teaching modalities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver pathology content in coordination with departmental leadership.
  • Teach lectures, small-group sessions, laboratory sessions, virtual microscopy, and case-based instruction covering general and systemic pathology.
  • Create and maintain assessment materials aligned with curricular goals and COMLEX preparation.
  • Integrate pathology concepts with physiology, pharmacology, and osteopathic clinical reasoning.
  • Mentor and advise medical students in academic and professional development.
  • Engage in scholarly activity in pathology, biomedical science, medical education, or related fields.
  • Serve on College committees and contribute to accreditation and institutional initiatives.
