About The Position

D’Youville University College of Osteopathic Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Biochemistry. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of biochemistry and molecular foundations within the preclinical osteopathic medical curriculum. The faculty member will teach core concepts in biochemistry, molecular biology, metabolic pathways, genetics, and clinically integrated biochemical principles, ensuring alignment with osteopathic education standards and COMLEX expectations.

Requirements

  • Education: D.O., M.D., or Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or genetics.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (2) years of teaching experience at the medical school or graduate level.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver rigorous biomedical content in an integrated curriculum.

  • Commitment to high standards of academic professionalism and student engagement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching in an osteopathic or allopathic medical school.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver biochemistry and molecular biology content in coordination with departmental leadership.
  • Teach lectures, small-group sessions, and case-based instruction covering molecular mechanisms, metabolism, genetics, and clinical correlations.
  • Create and maintain assessment materials aligned with curricular goals and COMLEX preparation.
  • Integrate biochemical concepts with pathophysiology, pharmacology, and osteopathic clinical reasoning.
  • Mentor and advise medical students in academic and professional development.
  • Engage in scholarly activity in biomedical science, medical education, or related fields.
  • Serve on College committees and contribute to accreditation and institutional initiatives.
