About The Position

In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements: Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters. Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN). Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable. A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester. Federal Work Study student may apply. The Project Assistant provides administrative and event support for the Office of Faculty Development. Available to start in the 2026 summer semester and continue in the fall and spring semesters. Requirements

  • Familiarity with administrative and general office support
  • Experience working with office equipment (copier, printer, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently, follow through on assigned projects and tasks, and make sound judgments
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills to work with all levels of Berklee faculty, staff, and administration, as well as with external contacts in a professional and confidential manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of database (e.g., Submittable), word processing, and spreadsheet applications
  • Proficiency with Google applications (Mail, Drive, Calendar)
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Mac OS X

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support for FD, including: communications, research, database management, and website management
  • Provides operational support for FD events, including Opening Day, Berklee Teachers on Teaching, and New Hire Orientations
  • Serves as a first point of contact for visitors and phone calls to the office
  • Assists the Department Coordinator with office management tasks
  • Other duties as assigned
