Sets the example of an engaged employee and supports employee engagement throughout the Company. Saturn Petcare, Inc. has a new state-of-the-art, pet foods manufacturing facility. Facility maintenance is required for both preventive and corrective maintenance. Maintenance Technicians will work both in teams and in conjunction with production to ensure machine availability is maximized.

Requirements

  • HS diploma required
  • Associate degree preferred; experience in maintenance role or Trade can be used in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and ability to apply concepts such as: fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • MS Office experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices is preferred.
  • German language speaking skills is another advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Corrective and preventative maintenance on facility equipment.
  • Support continuous Improvement activities and projects.
  • Support facility maintenance tasks as necessary.
  • Operate and maintain a Wastewater treatment plant.
  • HVAC chiller, cooling tower and air handler operation and maintenance.
  • Boiler operation, understand steam systems.
  • Knowledgeable with pumps and piping systems.
  • Basic electrical knowledge 480-volt, 208/120 volt.
  • Unwire and wire electric motors, switches etc.
  • Efficiently use hand and power tools.
  • Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring and mechanical Diagrams.
  • Able to layout and fabricate metal projects.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of technical procedures and manuals.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Stand for prolonged periods. Climb stairs, Work from ladder.
  • Frequently lift and / or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Can work independently or in a team environment and demonstrates pride in workmanship.
  • Follow directions.
  • Will have to work with other departments on projects.
  • Follow all safety rules, Hardhat, LOTO, wear harness etc.
