Your Role: The Facility Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building systems and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and well-functioning facilities. This role supports daily operations by performing preventive maintenance, responding to repair requests, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (Technical certification preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in facility maintenance or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environmental conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade certification (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.).
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • OSHA safety certification.
  • Forklift or scissor lift certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Diagnose and repair facility-related issues such as lighting, fixtures, doors, walls, flooring, and general infrastructure.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
  • Maintain and repair tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Monitor building automation systems (BAS) and ensure optimal operation.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and service records.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors when necessary.
  • Support facility upgrades, renovations, and improvement projects.
