About The Position

The Facility Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within a facility. This role requires compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the organization's safety policies. The Technician will ensure that all systems function optimally, contributing to a safe and comfortable environment for all building occupants.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively.
  • Proficient in general repair techniques and maintenance procedures.
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certifications such as Fire Pump Test Certificate, Fire Pump Certification, and OSHA 10 are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain boilers, compressors, refrigeration equipment, generators, and other systems powered by steam, air, diesel, gas, or water.
  • Conduct facility rounds to monitor and maintain mechanical, HVAC, electrical, piping, and plumbing systems.
  • Repair and replace components such as toilets, sinks, faucets, and dispensers.
  • Maintain and repair flooring, including tile and carpet squares, as needed.
  • Replace and repair lighting fixtures, including bulbs, ballasts, and drivers.
  • Perform water treatment for cooling towers, chilled water, and boiler water systems.
  • Maintain refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, and evaporators.
  • Operate and maintain heating systems, including boilers and hot water pumps.
  • Facilitate maintenance and repair of natural gas distribution lines and related components.
  • Manage water supply systems, including filters, softeners, pumps, and sprinkler systems.
  • Operate and maintain electrical motors and control systems, troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Maintain fuel oil system components and safety-related equipment.
  • Utilize energy/building management systems for operational efficiency.
  • Maintain an inventory of parts and materials for maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure the physical condition of facility shop spaces is kept in good repair, including painting and drywall patching.
  • Repair furniture and fixtures as needed.
