About The Position

The Facility Technician will be based out of Ponca City, OK. The Facility Technician will work independently and with other personnel to maintain and operate equipment and processes in the Midstream business unit. The role will support pipeline and station operations. Typical working conditions include working from heights, outside weather conditions, and rotating shifts. Facility technicians must follow safe work practices including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). In addition, they perform various duties required to keep their assigned processing unit/area operating safely and at specified production/run rates. This position requires the successful completion of an online assessment. Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
  • Must be able to work any shift associated with a 24/7 operation including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Willingness and ability to perform and comply with following, with or without reasonable accommodations:
  • To climb various ladders and stairs to operate valves, gauge tanks, or perform maintenance on equipment are a part of this position. The ladders and stairs range from 5 to 40 feet in height
  • To raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds
  • To walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on even and uneven terrain
  • To work outside in harsh weather conditions
  • To work alone a high percentage of the time
  • Responding to emergency calls as needed
  • To work overtime on an as-needed basis
  • To wear personal protective equipment (such as fire-retardant clothing, steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection)
  • To maintain your face so that a respirator / face mask can seal properly. (i.e. to be clean shaven (facial hair).
  • To perform firefighting duties
  • To work with hydrocarbons that are under high pressure and heat

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating activities as needed to assist in the receipt, storage and delivery of petroleum products.
  • Performing operational duties in accordance with Phillips 66 operating and procedural guides and local operating procedural guides.
  • Monitoring controls for pipeline delivery and receipts.
  • Ensuring quality and quantity of refined products.
  • Identifying and promptly communicating operational and equipment problems and completing malfunction reports.
  • Performing Startup, Shutdown, and operation of various equipment/systems.
  • Performing troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, calibrations and replacement of equipment as necessary.
  • Performing equipment monitoring and maintenance documentation.
  • Monitoring and enforcing safety rules.
  • Assisting with construction and maintenance projects.
  • Writing and reviewing work permits associated with construction or maintenance in operating areas.
  • Supervising and providing direction to contract crews.
  • Completing and maintaining required safety and regulatory training.
  • Acquiring operator qualifications in a DOT facility.
  • Performing environmental and regulatory inspections (eliminating, containing and reporting all product seeps and spills).
  • Complying with all applicable OSHA safety regulations to include P66 safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining facility emergency equipment.
  • Identifying and pursuing improvement opportunities.
