About The Position

The Electrician (Journeyman), Ponca City Refinery works in the maintenance departments of various business units within the refinery. This position requires the successful completion of an online assessment. The job posting expiration date is listed at the bottom of this job posting. Your assessment results will be valid for one year. Working schedule is normally days, Monday through Friday. However, it will involve some night, weekend, and overtime work to support the 24-hour operation of the Refinery Working effectively in a team environment

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Currently hold an Oklahoma State Journeyman Electrical License or equivalent state Journeyman Electrical License
  • 1 or more years of Industrial Electrician and/or process instrumentation shop experience
  • To read technical procedures and materials in English
  • Willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform/comply with the following:
  • To climb up to 250 feet in height
  • To lift up to 50 pounds
  • To work overtime, including nights, weekends, and call-outs
  • To work outside in harsh weather conditions
  • To work in enclosed spaces, such as tanks and silos
  • To work near large, hot, high-speed machines
  • To work around chemicals, including acids and bases
  • To work with petroleum products that are under high pressure and heat
  • To wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment (such as steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection) and fall protection
  • To maintain your face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous direct experience working in a refinery or petrochemical plant
  • Basic proficiency level with Microsoft Office, and SAP applications
  • Strong knowledge of electrical industrial type equipment and electrical maintenance practices

  • Maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing refinery electrical systems including:
  • medium voltage switchgear and motor control centers
  • 600-volt switchgear and motor control centers
  • electric motors
  • motor control circuits
  • lighting and power circuits
  • bucket truck operation
  • conduit installation
