About The Position

As part of the Operations team, the Facility Technician is responsible for keeping the facility in clean and orderly condition for staff and visitors. This includes: general housekeeping of offices, restrooms, common areas, warehouse areas, and light grounds maintenance. This position also performs a number of heavy cleaning duties and may be called upon to assist in other operational areas of the company.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Some previous general work experience preferred.
  • Prior custodial experience preferred.
  • Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
  • Self Motivated - Ability to be internally inspired to perform a task to the best of ones ability using his or her own drive or initiative.
  • Time Management - Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Service, clean and supply restrooms.
  • Service clean and supply breakrooms.
  • Gather and empty trash.
  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and vacuuming.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs.
  • Notify manager when supplies or equipment are needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.
  • Steam clean or shampoo carpets.
  • Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, chairs to prepare facilities for events, such as banquets or meetings.
  • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines and equipment.
  • General maintenance as required (change light bulbs, door adjustments, etc)
  • Provide general operational support in other areas as directed by manager.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Conform to all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
