About The Position

Clean Harbors is seeking an energetic Facility Technician - General Laborer for its incineration plant location in La Porte, TX. This role involves the upkeep of grounds, including mowing, weed eating, operating a forklift, general labor, and special projects such as painting and repacking. This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which governs the work schedule and hourly pay.

Requirements

HS Diploma or equivalent
Able to follow direction and take initiative
Must work well in a team
Ability to work in adverse conditions (heat & cold)
Must be comfortable wearing proper PPEs
Must be fitted for a respirator and clean shaven
Must be able to lift to 50lbs, climb ladders, stoop, bend, shovel, sweep and stand for long periods

Nice To Haves

Chemical and Hazardous Waste experience preferred
6+ months forklift experience preferred
Mechanically inclined is a plus!

Responsibilities

Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
Performs multiple site-specific plant operations, including mowing, weed eating, forklift operation, band saw operation, waste repacking and general labor.
Follow and maintain all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures
Ensures Works under the direction of the Plant Operations Manager or equivalent
Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment
Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business
