General Statement of Position: Performs a variety of labor duties to maintain and/or repair park district buildings and equipment with primary emphasis on building repairs. Representative Essential Job Functions: Maintains a positive community image for the district Strives to maintain a positive environment within the Districts organizational divisions Actively supports the Safety Policy and the Districts established loss control program, including training, enforcing safety rules and developing ideas for the prevention of incidents. Keeps vehicles, equipment, and tools in good operating condition. Performs maintenance and repair tasks as directed by the Park Grounds and Facility Maintenance Manager. Maintains a clean and orderly condition of buildings and surrounding areas. Performs all aspects of building repairs and maintenance. Cooperates with the Safety Coordinator in implementing all aspects of the safety policies and procedures as outlined by the Park District. Safety and Risk Management Use material-handling equipment or staff assistance when lifting and or moving objects of 50lbs or greater. Promptly report any work-related or patron related injuries to supervisor. Correct unsafe conditions and/or report them to a supervisor. Becomes thoroughly familiar with the Safety Manual Contents. Properly orients and continues to train employees on safety procedures. Cooperates with the Safety Coordinator in implementing all aspects of the safety policies and procedures as outlined by the Park District. Must be able to use personal protective equipment based on job specific tasks and may include, but is not limited to, the following: Safety goggles/ glasses Earplugs, ear covers Appropriate work boot Protective gloves Helmets Representative Marginal Job Functions: Performs other duties relating to the position as directed or delegated, or as may be necessary, such as: painting, moving supplies from building to building, composite crews such as park staff, golf staff, recreation staff, and helping on Special Events.
