About The Position
Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is a 285-bed long-term care facility that has served more than 2,782 Veterans from all branches of the armed forces since admitting the first resident on August 25, 1991. Thomson-Hood is the largest facility operated by the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs. The Thomson Hood Veterans Center is looking for self-motivated energetic Maintenance Worker II. Coordinates and performs the work of employees and assist the supervisor in the maintenance of buildings. Operation of electrical systems, plumbing systems, sewer and associated equipment, and performs other duties as required. The ideal candidate will work within a team-centered environment to meet our commitment to serving Kentucky Veterans by fostering Independence, preserving Dignity, and providing Compassionate Care.
Requirements
- EDUCATION: NONE
- EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One year of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services, or mechanical maintenance experience.
- Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE
- SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age.
