Requirements

High school graduate.
Must have five years of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services or mechanical maintenance experience. Some of the required experience must include both records keeping experience and limited or full responsibility for work of others.
Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
Experience in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

Position requires the person to have a Wastewater Operator I Certification.
Oversee and maintain the facility’s wastewater treatment plant.
Plan and direct the maintenance operations of a DJJ Facility.
Oversee maintenance for assigned DJJ facilities and grounds, as well as supervise all shifts of maintenance staff.
Inspect and repair all equipment.
Complete preventative maintenance as needed and develop preventative maintenance plans.
Order necessary parts and supplies, and maintains inventory.
Schedule and coordinate all maintenance needs.
Perform weekly, monthly, and quarterly inspections of facilities, equipment, and grounds.
Supervise all shifts of maintenance staff and outside vendors in needed repairs.
Coordinate conditions for safety, sanitation, and security devices with fire and safety personnel.
Develop preventative maintenance plans.
Conduct supervisory conferences and evaluates performance.
Complete all required reports regarding needed repairs and keep facility managers apprised of major issues.
Attend conferences, trainings, and meetings as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
