Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate's degree in HVAC, Mechanical, or related field OR a minimum of 2 years of documented, formal apprenticeship in plant operations/maintenance within a healthcare facility
  • 10+ years of plant operations or general maintenance experience in a healthcare facility or similar environment (required)
  • Strong HVAC background (highly preferred)
  • Supervisory or lead experience (preferred)
  • Ability to complete department-specific competency testing
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools used in facility maintenance
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels and from all backgrounds
  • Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC system design, operation, and repair
  • Familiarity with building, electrical, and fire codes, as well as Joint Commission Environment of Care standards
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced-level work to maintain physical structures, HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, utilities, and grounds in safe, reliable operating condition
  • Lead and direct maintenance technicians as needed to complete assigned tasks
  • Provide leadership support in the absence of the Plant Engineering manager or supervisor
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of building systems and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, electrical and fire codes, and Environment of Care standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation
  • Deliver excellent customer service to team members and clinical departments
  • Participate in on-call for after-hours support
