Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate's degree in HVAC, Mechanical, or related field OR a minimum of 2 years of documented, formal apprenticeship in plant operations/maintenance within a healthcare facility
- 10+ years of plant operations or general maintenance experience in a healthcare facility or similar environment (required)
- Strong HVAC background (highly preferred)
- Supervisory or lead experience (preferred)
- Ability to complete department-specific competency testing
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Proficiency with hand and power tools used in facility maintenance
- Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels and from all backgrounds
- Valid driver's license
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC system design, operation, and repair
- Familiarity with building, electrical, and fire codes, as well as Joint Commission Environment of Care standards
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced-level work to maintain physical structures, HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, utilities, and grounds in safe, reliable operating condition
- Lead and direct maintenance technicians as needed to complete assigned tasks
- Provide leadership support in the absence of the Plant Engineering manager or supervisor
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of building systems and equipment
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, electrical and fire codes, and Environment of Care standards
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation
- Deliver excellent customer service to team members and clinical departments
- Participate in on-call for after-hours support
