About The Position
The Mission of the Luther Luckett Correctional Complex, in accordance with the Department of Corrections is twofold: 1. To promote public safety, secure incarceration from the community; and, 2. To give felons the opportunities for the capability to contribute positively to society upon release through use of constructive classification, programs, and work assignment. The Facility Maintenance Supervisor I plays a vital role in this mission by supervising the work of inmate employees in the maintenance of the Luther Luckett Correctional Complex. Requirements
- High school graduate.
- Three years of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services or mechanical maintenance experience.
- Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Experience in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and supervise inmate workers
- Inspect and educate in the process of installation, repair and maintenance of facility systems
- Work with contractors and inspect work for proper completion
- Conduct on the job training
- Review work requests and recommend purchases necessary for projects
- Assign inmate employees to specific jobs and track working time
